DENTAL IMPLANTS

Support for Your Smile

Missing or failing teeth can profoundly impact your life. A gappy smile may cause embarrassment, and it’ll certainly affect your choice of meals. Not only that, but spaces in your smile become breeding grounds for bacteria, increasing the chance of gum disease, tooth decay, and infection.

As time goes on, your jaw deteriorates and the rest of your smile slips. Gaps form, and teeth become misaligned. The loss of one tooth often spells trouble for the rest.

Replacing missing teeth has never been easier. But most solutions lack one crucial element possessed by your natural teeth—the roots.

Dental implants act like new roots. Implanted into your jaw, they bind with the bone to create a strong anchor for your new, beautiful-looking replacement teeth.

Understanding Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small titanium screw placed into your jaw. Once in position, your dental implant fuses with the bone creating a solid connection. After it’s firmly in place, we use it as the foundation for skillfully-crafted replacement teeth.

We use dental implants where:

The Benefits of Dental Implants

Flawlessly Natural

Every dental implant we place is capped with perfect replacement teeth tailored to match your smile in colour, texture, size, and shape. Made from porcelain, your new teeth will look and feel like the real thing. Nobody would ever know the difference.

Feel Good About Smiling

Completing your smile with dental implants and lifelike replacement teeth helps restore lost confidence. That boost in self-esteem can help you live life to the fullest.

Enjoy Food Again

Losing teeth often means losing out on your favourite meals. If chewy, crunchy, and sticky food has been off the menu since your dental issues started, you can enjoy them confidently once you’ve got dental implants.

Reduce Oral Health Worries

When you lose teeth, the risk of further decay and infection increases. In addition, neighbouring teeth can drift into the newly-formed spaces, and the jaw below can deteriorate, impacting your facial structure. The result is an aged-looking, misaligned, and failing smile.

Filling gaps where you’ve lost teeth fixes all this. New teeth stop the dental drift, and implants stimulate the jaw bone. All while making it easier to fight bacteria.

No Fuss Care

Caring for dental implants is easy. Brush and floss your teeth as usual, and visit us for hygiene appointments and checkups, and your implants should last for life.

Foundations That Last

Dental implants are made from titanium, a material with several benefits. It’s lightweight, biocompatible, and hardwearing. Famed for its durability and resistance to corrosion, titanium is used everywhere, from medicine to industry and space exploration.

Are Dental Implants Right for Me?

We use dental implants to replace lost and failing teeth. Here are some essential factors we’ll consider to determine whether they’re right for you:

Jaw bone density

You’ll need sufficient bone mass in your jaw to support your dental implant. If your jaw has deteriorated, a bone graft is recommended before surgery. Depending on your case, alternative treatments like zygomatic implants may also be an option.

General health

We want to ensure you’re healthy enough to recover quickly from your treatment.

Lifestyle choices

If you’re a smoker, this could impact the effectiveness of dental implants and your recovery. We’d need to know this before determining whether the procedure is right for you.

The Dental Implant Process

Every step of your dental implant surgery is meticulously planned. Our implant team will begin with a comprehensive consultation. At this stage, we’ll take scans and X-rays of your jaw and ask you some routine questions.

Your initial consultation is also an opportunity to discuss the treatment in-depth. If you have any questions about implant placement, we’re always happy to answer.

The information we gather during your initial assessment will inform our planning process. We’ll plan the procedure and set a date.

Dental implants are placed in stages. At every stage, your gums and jaws will need time to heal. The bone and titanium implant will take several months to fuse fully.

During each step, we’ll provide anaesthetic whenever necessary. This improves your experience and makes the procedure more comfortable.

After we’ve placed the implant, we’ll give you temporary restoration to wear until the jaw has healed. If you like this, you’ll love your smile once the final replacement is ready and in place.
